Step Out Of The Boat

A Pentecost Prayer Meeting Encouragement

As I was praying prior to our Pentecost Prayer Meeting, I had a sense that the Lord was telling us that we don’t need to ask for more of the Holy Spirit, that our great Lord has already given us the fullness of his Holy Spirit, and that we need to step out of the boat into his arms and trust that he will be waiting for us with all we need. ‘Step out of the boat and know that I will be there waiting for you…and if you begin to sink, I will lift you up’.

From the first song, my spirit began to soar. You could sense the presence of the Lord. What a great joy to be together and praising the Lord. Judy and I had been asked to be a prayer team. We were surprised and blessed to have a number of the younger members come for prayer. I had tears in my eyes as we prayed over these young and wonderful kids…. oh how the Lord was so pleased with them and was ready to hear their every heartfelt prayer. We prayed over many others… who are fighting the good fight of faith, who are suffering, yet not giving up. Again you could just sense how proud the Lord was of each of them and was answering their pleas. At times we were overwhelmed with the love and power of the Holy Spirit.

I had a sense that the Lord was telling us that we don’t need to ask for more of the Holy Spirit, that our great Lord has already given us the fullness of his Holy Spirit, and that we need to step out of the boat into his arms and trust that he will be waiting for us with all we need.

Over these past 46 years the People of Hope has lived in the power of the Holy Spirit. We have seen signs and wonders and miracles… we have experienced great joy and we have suffered. We have “stepped out of the boat” and experienced the loving embrace of our Lord. Christ has and is answering every one of our prayers ….. in his perfect way and in his perfect timing…. some answers are still in process, but in the fullness of his time they will be answered.

So People of Hope, People of the Holy Spirit, let’s continue to trust in the Lord and walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. Let’s continue to step out of the boat and see the wonders of our God….. and all will be well with our souls.
