Marriage in the Holy Spirit: A retreat reflection

A reflection on our most recent Marriage in the Holy Spirit Retreat with members of the Lighthouse district

The Marriage in the Spirit Retreat was so beautiful and came in such a great time in our marriage. It wasn’t that we were going through anything monumental or having any big issues that we needed to work through. Rather, it provided necessary time and space to have important conversations during our first year of marriage.

"...it was such a blessing to carve out uninterrupted time to really talk about these things..."

A lot of the talks were similar to topics we discussed during marriage preparation, so it was such a blessing to carve out uninterrupted time to really talk about these things now that we’ve been married and lived together for over 6 months. It was so great to turn back and reflect on what we learned, and how we have been applying it so far and look more realistically on the future now that we have begun living together. I can only imagine that this retreat would serve us just as well a year from now, and again in 5 years from now too.

Baptizing our marriage in the spirit has been such a blessing. Jim and I want the Holy Spirit to flood into every aspect of our lives. We have already seen the fruits of this just in our first few weeks of Lent.

-Jim and Miranda Murray

Our Marriage in the Holy Spirit retreats are designed for couples, young and old, as an opportunity to experience encouragement, renewal, and an outpouring of God's grace through the Holy Spirit.
