About

The Pastoral Workers Training Course provides a Pastoral Worker with the knowledge, covered in Basic Approach, and the skills, covered in Basic Skills, necessary to provide pastoral care to individual community members for those in formation (Pastoral Workers in Initiations) and those who Publicly Committed (Pastoral Workers for Covenant Members). Pastoral care itself is the help the leaders of the community give to individual community members for whom they have some responsibility so that those members might live Christian and community life well (and therefore live the Christian life well). Pastoral care is provided to help new members enter the life of the community through the initiations process, and to committed members to help them live successfully the life they have voluntarily chosen to live in this community. Pastoral care is help given in the context of a personal relationship of brotherly love. It is a service to a community member.
